Workshop Coordination: Jorge Luis Nicolas Audy, President of Anprotec
In recent years, the Anprotec Workshop has been addressing relevant and current issues. This year, the theme chosen was Governance of Science Parks, an issue that is increasingly present in the work agenda of innovation ecosystem managers in Brazil. The Workshop will feature a keynote lecture by Luis Sanz, Director General of IASP and renowed specialist in governance of Science Parks. Next, there will be a panel where we will discuss relevant aspects, challenges and trends of Governance Models of Science Parks in Brazil, with lectures addressing cases and the vision of ecosystems of innovation from the perspective of government and public and private universities.

Luis Sanz is general director of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and member of its Board of Directors. Coordinator of the World Alliance for Innovation (Wainova), he is president and founder of Perfil Trh. S.L., and Chairman of the Board of LU2 Ventures Ltd. Sanz has already published and presented several papers and articles on science and technology parks, innovation, the knowledge economy and sociology of globalization. He is an editorial consultant and advisor to economics magazines, as well as being a special adviser to science and technology parks in several countries. Previously, he was co-director of the Valencia Science Park, which he founded in 1987, and held positions of trust, such as the vice-presidency of the Spanish Association of Science Parks and the presidency of the European Division of the IASP.
Carolina Leite Amaral Fontoura has been a legal advisor at the UFRJ Science Park for three years, in the Administrative, Civil and Corporate Law area. Fontoura works in the interface with the companies that are located in the Park, with a focus on consulting, drafting of contracts, opinions and bidding documents, as well as legal analysis of research, development and innovation projects. She holds a degree in Law from Universidade Cândido Mendes (2011), with a specialization in contracts from Universidade Cândido Mendes (2013), and a master's degree in Public Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2016). Previously, she worked in the areas of administrative law, regulatory, environmental, procurement and contracts at BNDES, SEBRAE, and Firmo Sabino e Lessa Advogados.
Luís Afonso Bermúdez holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from PUC-RS, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from PUC-RJ and Ph.D. in Optical and Microwave Communications from the Institute of Optical and Microwave Communications Research of the University of Limoges, in France.
Bermúdez is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Brasília (UnB) since 1980 and has been the head professor in the same department since 2000. He was responsible for the implementation and management of the Technology Incubators program at CDT/UNB and the Innovation, Intellectual Property and Transfer of Technology Policy at UnB since 1990. He was also president of the Latin American Division of the International Association of Science Parks; administrative/financial director, vice-president and president of Anprotec.
Bermudez also served as lecturer at the École Nationale Superieure de Ceramique Industrielle in Limoges, France; director of the Technology College of the University of Brasília and head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Brasília. Bermúdez has been representing UnB in the Advisory Council of Sebrae/DF since 1991 and currently acts as its chairman.
Mr. Saboya holds a degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Since August 2007, he has served as CEO of Porto Digital, a technology park based in Recife-PE, specialized in software development and creative economy. He is also an adviser to CESAR - Centro de Estudos e Sistemas Avançados do Recife and to Softex Recife. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Administration of the UFPE, where he teaches Macroeconomics and Systems and Information Technologies Management. He also served as Development Secretary of the city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho (1998-1999) and as Commercial Director at Empresa Pernambucana de Turismo (1995-1996). Mr. Saboya also works as a business consultant in the areas of strategic planning, innovation management and production process engineering for government and private entities. In November 2015, he was elected President of the Latin American Division of IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation).
Mr. Audy is the President of Anprotec, holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Information Systems from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and a specialist degree in Multimedia Arts and Technology Management from IBM and PUC-Rio. Mr. Audy is Vice-Dean of Research, Innovation and Development at PUC-Rio Grande do Sul and a member of several scientific associations (SBPC, SBC, IEEE, ACM) and several management councils in the area of Science, Technology and Innovation (C,T&I) such as the Board of Strategic Studies, CGEE, the Deliberative Council of EMBRAPII and the State Council of Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul. His areas of research interest are Software Engineering, Distributed Software Development and Project Management. He previously served as President of the Latin American Division of the IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) from 2013 to 2015, and Vice President of Anprotec, from 2012 to 2015.

It corresponds to the official opening of the event and marks the beginning of the second part of the Conference’s program, focused on plenary and technical sessions. Formal ceremony, attended by authorities and representatives of the local and national innovation system. At the end of the panel, a cocktail party will take place for the integration between the participants.
