Mini course 01 - Sustainability, innovation and business leadership

This course will cover the following topics: changing environment and the challenge of structural changes; barriers to innovation; sustainability as base for innovation; triple bottom line and sustainable business models; business leadership based on sustainability.

Speaker: Celso Lemme, professor of the Coppead Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro


Celso Funcia Lemme holds a Ph.D. in Administration, with major in Finance, and a Master's degree in Production Engineering, with major in Evaluation of Projects and Quantitative Methods, by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation and in Statistics from the Rio de Janeiro State University. Since 1999, he is a professor at the

COPPEAD Institute of Administration at UFRJ, currently lecturing on Finance and Corporate Sustainability. He has conducted research projects in the areas of corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, and corporate valuation. From 1983 to 1999, he worked as professor of of Corporate Finance in further education and graduate programs at Getulio Vargas Foundation. In the private sector, he acted as General Manager of Planning and Financial Analysis at Aracruz Celulose (now Fibria S.A.) and worked at Companhia Souza Cruz in the area of investment projects evaluation and supplies planning.

Mini course 02 - From real estate to place branding

In this mini course, we will discuss the concepts of place branding and how this approach is able to leverage vocations and optimize the identity of places, creating competitive aligned advantages and vectors of economic growth and resilience. The dynamics of the mini course will involve introduction to concepts, discussions and collaborative works.

Speaker: Caio Esteves, founder of Places for Us, Brazil

Caio Esteves is the founder of Places for Us, the first consulting firm specializing in place branding in Brazil, and author of “Place Branding”, the first Brazilian book on the subject. He is also a member of the advisory council of City Nation Place, an international place branding congress; of the Institute of Place Management of Manchester (UK); and of IPBA – International Place Branding Associaton.
In the academic area, he works as coordinator of the Branding Experience post-graduation course and the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Branding Lab of IED-SP; coordinator of the Place Branding MBA at Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco; and professor of Branding at IED-SP, Rio Branco-SP, Alfa-GO and SENAC SP.

Anprotec Workshop - Governance of Science Parks

Workshop Coordination: Jorge Luis Nicolas Audy, President of Anprotec

In recent years, the Anprotec Workshop has been addressing relevant and current issues. This year, the theme chosen was Governance of Science Parks, an issue that is increasingly present in the work agenda of innovation ecosystem managers in Brazil. The Workshop will feature a keynote lecture by Luis Sanz, Director General of IASP and renowed specialist in governance of Science Parks. Next, there will be a panel where we will discuss relevant aspects, challenges and trends of Governance Models of Science Parks in Brazil, with lectures addressing cases and the vision of ecosystems of innovation from the perspective of government and public and private universities.

Luis Sanz is general director of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and member of its Board of Directors. Coordinator of the World Alliance for Innovation (Wainova), he is president and founder of Perfil Trh. S.L., and Chairman of the Board of LU2 Ventures Ltd. Sanz has already published and presented several papers and articles on science and technology parks, innovation, the knowledge economy and sociology of globalization. He is an editorial consultant and advisor to economics magazines, as well as being a special adviser to science and technology parks in several countries. Previously, he was co-director of the Valencia Science Park, which he founded in 1987, and held positions of trust, such as the vice-presidency of the Spanish Association of Science Parks and the presidency of the European Division of the IASP.

Carolina Leite Amaral Fontoura has been a legal advisor at the UFRJ Science Park for three years, in the Administrative, Civil and Corporate Law area. Fontoura works in the interface with the companies that are located in the Park, with a focus on consulting, drafting of contracts, opinions and bidding documents, as well as legal analysis of research, development and innovation projects. She holds a degree in Law from Universidade Cândido Mendes (2011), with a specialization in contracts from Universidade Cândido Mendes (2013), and a master's degree in Public Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2016). Previously, she worked in the areas of administrative law, regulatory, environmental, procurement and contracts at BNDES, SEBRAE, and Firmo Sabino e Lessa Advogados.

Luís Afonso Bermúdez holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from PUC-RS, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from PUC-RJ and Ph.D. in Optical and Microwave Communications from the Institute of Optical and Microwave Communications Research of the University of Limoges, in France.
Bermúdez is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Brasília (UnB) since 1980 and has been the head professor in the same department since 2000. He was responsible for the implementation and management of the Technology Incubators program at CDT/UNB and the Innovation, Intellectual Property and Transfer of Technology Policy at UnB since 1990. He was also president of the Latin American Division of the International Association of Science Parks; administrative/financial director, vice-president and president of Anprotec.
Bermudez also served as lecturer at the École Nationale Superieure de Ceramique Industrielle in Limoges, France; director of the Technology College of the University of Brasília and head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Brasília. Bermúdez has been representing UnB in the Advisory Council of Sebrae/DF since 1991 and currently acts as its chairman.

Mr. Saboya holds a degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Since August 2007, he has served as CEO of Porto Digital, a technology park based in Recife-PE, specialized in software development and creative economy. He is also an adviser to CESAR - Centro de Estudos e Sistemas Avançados do Recife and to Softex Recife. He is a Professor at the Faculty of Administration of the UFPE, where he teaches Macroeconomics and Systems and Information Technologies Management. He also served as Development Secretary of the city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho (1998-1999) and as Commercial Director at Empresa Pernambucana de Turismo (1995-1996). Mr. Saboya also works as a business consultant in the areas of strategic planning, innovation management and production process engineering for government and private entities. In November 2015, he was elected President of the Latin American Division of IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation).

Mr. Audy is the President of Anprotec, holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Information Systems from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and a specialist degree in Multimedia Arts and Technology Management from IBM and PUC-Rio. Mr. Audy is Vice-Dean of Research, Innovation and Development at PUC-Rio Grande do Sul and a member of several scientific associations (SBPC, SBC, IEEE, ACM) and several management councils in the area of Science, Technology and Innovation (C,T&I) such as the Board of Strategic Studies, CGEE, the Deliberative Council of EMBRAPII and the State Council of Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul. His areas of research interest are Software Engineering, Distributed Software Development and Project Management. He previously served as President of the Latin American Division of the IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) from 2013 to 2015, and Vice President of Anprotec, from 2012 to 2015.

Eduardo Giugliani is a professor of the Faculty of Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and coordinator of Strategic Projects and Negotiation at the Science and Technology Park at PUCRS (TECNOPUC). He also has a doctorate in Engineering and Knowledge Management by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2011), with the theme “Governance Model for Science Parks”. He has experience in the area of Civil Engineering, with a focus on Consultancy and Structural Projects. He works on projects of scientific and technological development focused on systems and environments of innovation, knowledge management, governance, innovation and interdisciplinarity. Giugliani is the author of the book “Governance Model for Science and Technology Parks”, edited by Anprotec and Sebrae.

The Challenge is one of the tools available on the corporate venture market. On this segmento f the Forum, the dynamic of this process will be showed, There will be a pitch of about 10 companies and MRV Engenharia will deliberate about the result.

Opening Panel

It corresponds to the official opening of the event and marks the beginning of the second part of the Conference’s program, focused on plenary and technical sessions. Formal ceremony, attended by authorities and representatives of the local and national innovation system. At the end of the panel, a cocktail party will take place for the integration between the participants.
